Even before I began working as a travel advisor, I had traveled to China, S. Korea, the Philippines and Hong Kong many times as a volunteer and board member of an international adoption agency. For numerous trips, I was a baby escort delivering children from orphanages into the arms of their adoptive parents. Three of my five children were adopted internationally and I served on the board of directors of the adoption agency for almost 20 years. During this time, I made contacts and created friendships within the international adoption community of both sides of the world Since 1996, I have organized Motherland Tours (also known as Homeland or Heritage Tours) to South Korea for Korean-born adoptees and their families. In 2004, I began organizing Motherland Tours to China and Vietnam. Each Motherland Tour is created to give the adoptee the knowledge they seek about their birth country.
