"Using a travel consultant is like a great bottle of wine. You may never know all the
love and attention that went into creating your trip, but you’ll definitely taste it." -- Anonymous
I love travel. I especially love luxury travel.
Having visited 26 countries and booked countless trips, I have learned by experience that the right 4- or 5-star hotel (or comparable ship) can brighten one’s memory of their whole vacation. Time and again, when debriefing a client after their trip, it's been the things they splurged on that they've recounted to me in glowing—even effusive—terms. They're no longer thinking about what they paid, they're thinking about how wonderful it was, what an amazing experience they had, how service-oriented everyone in the hotel (or on the ship) was, etc.
And this is why I specialize in luxury travel. At ScheckTrek Travel, we know that investing in an upscale experience can pay memory dividends for years to come.
ScheckTrek organizes travel for individuals and groups, including meetings/event planning. We recently worked with the president of a state university for an uber-luxury golf tour of Ireland for major donors to the university. When they arrived for their stay at Ashford Castle, the staff was lined up outside to greet them. It was just like Downton Abbey, except that Lord and Lady Grantham aren't handed a glass of champagne when they arrive home!
Another example was a group of 79 that we organized and escorted on a 12-day, deluxe tour of Turkey. It was a huge success, such that we are still receiving positive comments more than a year later.
We’ve booked group and individual cruises and river cruises, planned safaris in Africa, honeymoons in over-the-water bungalows in Moorea, private guided tours in Israel and Jordan, small-group escorted tours all over, and lots of fully customized travel, especially in Europe.
Hotels are a special passion of mine. Time flies when I'm evaluating which is the very best hotel for a client’s taste and budget. • Is it known for good service? • Is it beautiful, with appropriate architecture and décor for the destination? • Is it well located? • Are there a sufficient number of good reviews (including from other travel advisors on dedicated forums) to vet it?
Much the same could be said for cruise lines and ships. • How large are the cabins? • How good is the food? • What kind of entertainment and activities are onboard, and how important is that to you? • Yes, it stops in Santorini, but will it be there long enough for you to get to the top, see what you want to see, and return to the ship in time?
We work in close partnership with our clients, learning what is important to them, offering not only opinions, but options—all in an effort to enable them make informed travel decisions that will enhance their experience. The goal is always to exceed expectation.
If this sounds like what you’re looking for in a travel advisor, we would love to hear from you!
