Traveling the world’s rivers on a river cruise is a wonderful way to experience a region up close. You dock in the heart of major cities; travel through quaint villages; enjoy complimentary, guided shore tours; feast on regional cuisine and relax on luxurious river ships that cater to small number of passengers on each voyage.
I have cruised Portugal’s Douro River with Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection and the Lower Mississippi with American Cruise Lines — unique experiences that give me wonderful insight on what you can expect on a river cruise in the United States or internationally. I arrange many Viking River Cruises each year and I receive consistently positive remarks from my clients regarding their experience with Viking.
River cruising is quite different from ocean cruising. Even if you are not an experienced ocean cruiser, it is well worth considering a river cruise if you are interested in a wonderfully in-depth way of getting to know a region. You are on the water, but your boat ties up or docks along the riverbank. You can step off the river cruise ship, and in most cities or towns, it’s just a short walk to the most coveted attractions. You’ll receive at least one complimentary shore tour in each port. Some river cruise lines have dramatically increased their offerings and will offer different levels of tours – for those who prefer to be more active, those interested in certain types of enrichment, those for late risers, and more. I know how each river cruise line differentiates itself and can help steer you to the best one. River cruising is such a tremendous value. In addition to the many inclusions, I’m always on the lookout for excellent air promotions that will make your trip to Europe or wherever your river cruise is taking place well worth your investment.
I look forward to hearing from you, learning more about the types of travel you enjoy, and planning a perfect river cruise for you.
